User

The user is the person who wants to sign a document digitally. They start the eSign process through a website or app. Their identity must be verified before the signature is applied.

ASP (Application Service Provider)

The ASP provides the platform (like a website or mobile app) where users upload and sign documents. It connects with the eSign Service Provider via APIs. The ASP also manages the user interface and signing request flow.

ESP (eSign Service Provider)

The ESP handles the core digital signing process. It verifies the user’s identity through eKYC and generates a one-time digital signature. The ESP works with a Certifying Authority to issue a short-term DSC for signing.

 KYC Provider

The KYC provider authenticates the user’s identity using Aadhaar, PAN, or other approved methods. It ensures the user is genuine before the signature is created. UIDAI is the most common KYC provider in Aadhaar-based eSign.

Certifying Authority (CA)

Capricorn CA issues the short-term Digital Signature Certificate (DSC) used to sign the document. It generates and certifies the public-private key pair securely. CAs are licensed by the government to ensure trust and legal validity.

Aadhaar Biometric

To use Aadhaar Biometric for e-signing, first install the “Capricorn Biometric” app and the Biometric Device Driver. Then, enter your Aadhaar or Virtual ID and scan your finger using the biometric device. Once verified, the Sign button will appear; click it to complete your e-signature.

Capricorn E-KYC

Complete the Capricorn E-KYC process and get your E-KYC ID and PIN after submitting the form and passing a 3-step verification. You can then use them to sign your documents easily.

Aadhaar IRIS Scan
